The Product Manager is responsible for the hands-on product management of Digifonica’s telephony technologies. As the advocate of Digifonica’s products and services, the incumbent will identify new business/product opportunities through research and business case analysis as well as identify ways to increase the profitability of existing products. The Product Manager will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on industry experience and contact with customers and prospects. Upon adoption of new products, the Product Manager is to effectively communicate business solutions, messaging and value propositions to customers. The Product Manager is responsible for the implementation and execution of the product management plans and contributing to corporate objectives. The incumbent’s role will be one of variety, key responsibility and s/he should be technically savvy with particular strengths in strategic planning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for: - The hands-on product development, from conception to delivery, of Digifonica’s new and emerging telephony technologies.
- Identifying new business opportunities through research and the use of business case analysis to include product definition, market analysis, competitor research, pricing, promotion and distribution plans.
- Managing the product line life cycle from strategic planning and working with other departments to implement tactical activities.
- Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
- Effectively communicating business solutions, messaging and value propositions to internal and external customers.
- Implementing and executing the product management plans and Product Road Map.
- Contributing to overall corporate objectives.
- Contributing to technical specifications and business/financial processes with the view to creating corporate best practices encompassing effective documentation and quality management applications.
- Leading strategic product marketing initiatives to quantify and define vertical markets; identifying best ways to penetrate market and overcome competitive obstacles.
- Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily R&D and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning i.e. working with R&D counterpart to define product release requirements and with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits and target customer.
- Developing product core positioning and messaging, and providing compelling value propositions to the market.
- Developing customer-facing product collateral to highlight solution’s unique selling benefits through data sheets, case studies, online demo’s, etc.
- Working with the Product and Business Development teams to analyze and recommend product enhancements, variations or add-ons that yield significant revenue.
- Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
- Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product to maximize return on investment.
- Executing strategic product marketing initiatives to identify best ways to penetrate markets and overcome competitive obstacles.
- Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product.
- Serving as the internal and external evangelist for product offerings, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education - Degree/Diploma in business, marketing or management, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Previous Experience - 3+ years of experience in progressive product management and marketing positions within the software, high technology or telecom sectors;
- Experience with product life cycle, and
- Solid understanding of market research/analysis and the marketing process.
